The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), known as NAB, is like Pakistan’s anti-corruption police. It’s led by Chairman Nazir Ahmed Butt, who used to be a general. NAB’s job is to catch and punish people who do corrupt things.

NAB started as a small group called the Ehtesab Cell in 1997, mainly to investigate and punish corruption cases. There are two smaller offices in Hyderabad and Gilgit and Baltistan, each led by an Additional Director.
