The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) was established and operates in accordance with the State Bank of Pakistan Act of 1956. To safeguard the interests of depositors, the Deposit Protection Corporation (DPC) has been established as a wholly owned subsidiary of SBP under the DPC Act of 2016. The primary aim of DPC is to provide compensation to depositors up to the limit of protected deposits in the event of a member financial institution’s failure.
