The Bureau of Statistics (BOS), under the jurisdiction of the Government of Punjab, acts as the central hub for statistical data activities in the province. This expansion led to the creation of Provincial Bureaus of Statistics in both West Pakistan and East Pakistan, following the recommendations of an International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) Mission.
