The significant discharge of untreated wastewater into the Ravi River poses a significant risk to the ecosystem, especially the groundwater source. Studies suggest that the increasing concentration of contaminants in the river could become more hazardous in the near future, potentially threatening the quality of the city’s groundwater, which is a vital source of drinking water for Lahore.
